I hope all our fishermen will be able to learn to be responsible for nature. They owe their means of living to the seas and its inhabitants. I hope they can be responsible enough to take care of the things which are not ought to be destroyed. There are species to catch and methods to catch them without harming the others which are not fishing targets.Maybe, some areas where this whales abound should be protected both by the state and the fishermen themselves.

thanking you for putting some text on our site. We really appreciate what you have said regarding SoNG and the whale. That is your text giving us an idea about pre historic survey on cetacean studies at the area.

I know about BCDP and The Guide Tours, Rubayyant Mansur, Elisabeth Fahrni Mansur and i had a communication with her on this regard. but the fact is before putting some comment, you should also know the present state (till the date the article have published) of survey on cetacean at SoNG. and when did they sail last time for the survey.

And the team of Kewkardong Bangladesh, never run any program based on funds. its an advocacy group who has a loyal readers and subscribers around the world only because of what they says those comes out of their own experience from the field. So when we talked about entangled whale no expert raised their voice because that happened and that issue should be addressed.

So i believe you have got an idea about the whole thing, and author knew what he has been upto.

Thank you and do you actually follow up the fate the entangled whale?

Thanks for pointing out that. However, it may not be possible to know what everyone is doing in this area especially if the results are not widely circulated in media. I appreciate your comment and the activities of your group.

For your information, there are ‘proper’ cetacean studies being conducted in the Swatch of no Ground by the BCDP (Bangladesh Cetacean Diversity Project ) and the WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society) since 2006. The same group of researchers started their cetacean research in 2002 and have published their research findings in peer reviewed journals, and in local and international news media (http://shushuk.org/). The author should do his homework before stating that there is a lack of proper surveys being conducted in the Swatch!
